Saturday October 10th 4:45pm-6:15pm 1.5hr Seminar
Dancing with Egyptian Rhythms: Drums are the most important instrument in Arabic music and the rhythms played with them are the heart beat of bellydance. It is important for every dancer to know these rhythms so that she can understand and express the music when she dances. In this workshop Shahrzad and Marshall will teach the most important Egyptian rhythms which are used for most belly dance music. With every rhythm they will teach how to recognize and count it, which dance technique and movements are most appropriate to use, how to improvise to it, and then drill several combinations and a short choreography.
