I have done an old video about lotus hands but let's try it again this time as we do this arms and hands series. Now we'll try to simplify and get closer to the camera :)
Lotus hands are Indian hands, common in Indian traditional dancing but have been used in belly dancing. They are not as common as you might think. In fact, you could watch hundreds of belly dance performances in your life and never see one belly dancer use lotus hands.
So why we learn them? Well they create variety in a slow section of your dance. Most dancers struggle with variety when the music is slow as there are only few good moves you can do. So stopping and doing some arms moves would add a bit of variety instead of constantly doing camel walk, undulations ... etc
Here is the breakdown of how to do lotus hands. Good luck !
